Wedding Planning, Vacationing & Meetings

We just got off FaceTime with our photographers Kalahan and Sean and realized we haven’t worked on our blog since.. Well we haven’t blogged since July! We have been so busy planning our wedding, visiting family, and meeting up with Gina & Mike to deliver their wedding album that we didn’t have time to sit down and tell you about it. So here we are, telling you about what our life has been like since our last blog!

We snuck away for a quick trip to South Carolina to visit Zac’s family. Since Zac is waiting to hear back about his start date at Electric Boat, we thought this would be the time to go. We don’t know when we will be able to travel again once he starts his new welding job. We drove down with two of our dogs, Maple & Spruce. We enjoyed going to dog friendly restaurants, hanging out on the beach, and spending some quality time with family. Shelby’s Dad even drove up from Florida to Charleston so we could spend a Saturday with him!

We met up with our friends Gina and Mike for dinner at Burtons this week to deliver their wedding album before they left for their honeymoon! We had fun getting Gina to try some new foods for the first time and cracking jokes with Mike. We had Gina almost in tears over their album, so I would say she loved it! We can’t wait to meet up with them again to hear how their honeymoon went!

Wedding Planning:

We are now 8 months into wedding planning, so most of the big details are done! Booking our wedding photographer was the first step on the list. We interviewed around 20 photographers and fell in LOVE with Kalahan and Sean! They are the sweetest couple and we felt like we have been best friends with them forever! Zac and Sean connected on their favorite bourbon. Shelby connected with Kalahan over wedding details and laughing at the guys’ dad jokes. We FaceTimed with them to discuss the plans for our engagement session that is next week! NEXT WEEK you guys!! We can’t wait to tell you all about our experience with them and will probably blog just about our favorite photographers!

We also found our tent rental company early on in planning at a bridal expo. When we met Nicole, we felt like she was part of the family! We sat down to discuss our rental for what should have been an hour appointment and talked for at least three. We then met again to go over details and talked for another two hours before we all went out to eat!

We are meeting some of the best people during wedding planning! It is so amazing that not only will these people work with us for our wedding, but we will also work with them on other people’s weddings! Not to mention the friendships we will have outside of the wedding business!

Currently we are looking at an amazing wedding planner and florist, venue for our after party, and finalizing details with many of our vendors!

One thing we recommend for wedding planning, is do it all as soon as possible! We still have a YEAR before our wedding and all the big planning is done!

We hope to get back to our Date Challenges sometime next week, so keep an eye out for those!
