Fitch House Styled Shoot

Happy New Year everyone!

2018 gave us many great friends, experiences, travels, and accomplishments. One of our favorite accomplishments was our styled shoot at The Fitch House. Not only did we host our very first styled shoot, but it has also been featured twice in 2018!

When planning our styled shoot, we thought about our theme, location, and vendors. We had planned on it being just us, a few friends, and a dress. However, we ended up planning a complete wedding and hosted six other photographers/videographers!

We ended up with a bride, bridesmaids, a beautiful venue, invitations, two tablescapes, a cake, jewelry, vow books, a ring box, hair and makeup, and gorgeous flowers from some of the best vendors in the wedding industry!

To say we are proud that we pulled it all together day of, is an understatement. We couldn’t believe how well it all came together! Our hard work paid off because not only did we get beautiful images for our portfolio, but the shoot was also featured in two publications!

We are so honored that Glittery Bride & Wedding Boston featured our styled shoot on their blogs! Make sure to click their names to view our features on their websites!

Thank you to all the amazing vendors who helped us pull it all off!

We love getting ready pictures! We recommend getting ready in a room that has a lot of natural light! When we saw the windows at The Fitch House, we fell madly in love! The windows span the entire room with French doors at the end! It was the perfect dreamy lighting for our shoot!

Items such as your perfume and veil make for the perfect detail shots for you to look back on to remember your big day! Shelby’s Mom purchased this Coach perfume for our shoot! (Although, we think she just wanted an excuse to buy it!) A picture of this perfume is now framed and hanging up in our bathroom. Detail photos are the perfect artwork for your powder room!

We asked our florist to give us a few clippings from the florals she used for the bouquet and table runners. Adding flowers or greenery to our flat lays brings them to life and adds a pop of color! We ask our brides to have their florists provide clippings as well! It helps tie in all of the small details throughout the day!

We love when our couples pop a bottle of champagne or confetti during getting ready photos! If your bridesmaids are not able to give a speech at the wedding, they can give a little speech to you and the other girls while getting ready. Not only is this an adorable picture, but it is also a super sweet private moment with your girls that you will not forget!

When Amonie sent us this gorgeous ring box for our shoot, we had to try it out with Shelby’s engagement ring. We fell in love and will be buying a set from them for our own wedding! Not only is it beautiful for pictures, but it is also an adorable keepsake from your big day and a great way to store your ring!

When planning our shoot, we knew we had a French theme, blue hues, and beautiful mismatched plates. We knew that Michael’s Party Rentals would have the perfect table and chairs for our look! We love their farm table and cross back chairs! We found the two metal pedestal tables and the glass food display from TJ Maxx! We highly recommend looking around TJ Maxx, Christmas Tree Shop, and Pier One for wedding decor to mix with your rentals!

We fell in love with these vow books as soon as they arrived! We have seen couples read their vows from folded up pieces of paper or from their cell phones. Instead, we recommend that our couples read from a beautiful heirloom vow book from Wedding Story Writer! Not only are they a great keepsake from your big day, but they can be reused by your children on their wedding day, making it a family heirloom! It could also be your something new, but your daughter’s something old (or blue if you get a beautiful blue book like these!)

We purchased this love seat for our own wedding and knew it would fit in perfectly for the “head table!” We also got this beauty at TJ Maxx for $299!

We talked to Karla at Duchess of Desserts about our theme and our blue mismatched plates, and she came up with this beautiful design! She hand painted the beautiful floral pattern and made the gorgeous flower!

Fun Facts: Moet has been a go to for our family for holidays and special events. We remember the proper way to pronounce it by saying “no way mo-ay!” You want to pronounce the T! True Champagne comes from Champagne France, if it is not from Champagne France, it is technically sparkling wine! Another fun fact? The founder, Claude Moet, was born in France, but his last name is actually Dutch, which is why Moet is not pronounced in a French way!  You can thank Shelby’s Dad for these random facts!

Julie Allen Bridals helped us find the perfect bridesmaid dresses for our gorgeous models! Jordan (center) is Zac’s cousin, Brianne (left) is marrying into the family, and Allison (right) is a photographer and friend of ours! They were everything we could ask for, they dealt with the freezing cold and kept their beautiful smiles on their faces the whole time! The hair and makeup by Transcendent Makeup only enhanced their natural beauty!

We wanted to make sure that we included groom’s details in our shoot. Wildflowers of Tolland made these beautiful boutineers! We love adding name tags like these by Lumos Calligraphy to our flat lay!

Amanda, our bride for the shoot, is a childhood friend of Shelby’s. They grew up together and she is even a bridesmaid in our wedding! She has a YouTube channel where she talks about her life and makeup! She did her own makeup for the shoot and it came out beautifully! Let’s all take a moment to look at those lashes!

Carrie picked out a few pieces of her jewelry for our bride and bridesmaids to wear! You can see one of her necklaces, a pair of earrings, and a little bit of one of her hair accessories in Amanda’s hair! We love that her jewelry is simple and classic! It will match any style dress and will be a great gift for your bridesmaids!

When the venue owner’s dog came to visit, we had to catch a few pictures of this cutie! We love dogs in wedding parties!

The snow did not stop us! Amanda happened to have this beautiful coat that made our shoot turn into a winter theme!

Another reason we loved The Fitch House is because of this! White walls!

We love veil shots! Make sure this is on your shot list for your wedding!

Invitations are the first thing your guests will see of your wedding! Make sure they are a statement piece as they set the mood for the wedding! Lumos Calligraphy made three gorgeous invitation suites for our shoot!
