When we received an email from Arantxa and Alex asking us if we wanted to get a drink at a local brewery before their engagement session, we knew it was going to be a fun one!
We started off the session at Alvarium Beer Company in New Britain CT. Since Shelby is not a big fan of beer, Zac asked if they had wine. “White or red” asked the bartender. “White” he replied. Zac then waited for the follow up question of what type, but instead was handed a glass of wine. We all laughed at the fact that Shelby was drinking “white wine” that had no description as to the type or brand. Besides the wine (there is a reason you don’t order wine at a Brewery Shelby), Zac had their Summer Fling and enjoyed its tart and fruity flavors.
As we finished up our conversations about their upcoming wedding at the Holiday Hill in Mansfield CT, we snapped a few pictures of them with their beer. Arantxa and Alex love their beer, we heard them commenting on the subtle flavors of what they had been drinking, like beer sommeliers.
Beer has been a big part of their relationship, they love going to breweries together. If you quickly browse their Instagram feeds, you will notice a beer with them at a pool in Cancun, Route 66 in Arizona, a Pivovar (brewery) in Prague, and at Octoberfest in Munich! Yeah, we know, they are way cooler than we ever will be!
The brewery is dog friendly, and as we were leaving Shelby saw a cute dog and went to ask Arantxa and Alex “do you have any pets..” but cut herself short, remembering from our first double date that they loved plants. Instead she said “plants, how are your plants doing?” and then we all laughed about their giant pepper plant that they have had forever, that still refuses to grow any peppers.
After our fun at the brewery, we all headed over to Walnut Hill Park. The park was so beautiful, it has a stunning rose garden that was in full bloom! When we began our session, Shelby said now “giggle giggle” and boy did Arantxa giggle! By the end of the night, they said #gigglegiggle needed to become a thing. Since this was their second engagement session, they were naturals! They had all the poses down instantly so we could just fly through their session! Zac took them to go dance in a field (yes those images are Zac’s for those who keep asking about his skills!) and Shelby borrowed their gorgeous engagement ring for some detail shots.
At the end of their session, after Shelby used two roses for ring shots, we then used the petals for a beautiful petal falling photo. We had perfect golden hour glow as the sun had just set behind the trees.
We can’t wait for you to see all the photos!
Congratulations Arantxa and Alex! We will see you NEXT FRIDAY!!
P.S. We hope to see Max the penguin at your big day!
