Hey there friends! We had the pleasure of photographing Kelly & Nathan’s wedding last weekend in The Berkshires!
Let’s talk about a dream venue. White walls, lots of windows, beautiful architecture. That’s our dream. On Nathan & Kelly’s wedding day, we walked into our dream!
Bloom Meadows in Hancock Massachusetts is a white barn with white shiplap (the Joanna Gaines in us had our hearts skipping beats)! It has huge barn doors, wood beams, and modern features throughout. The best part? The getting ready suite is in a beautiful silo!
On top of a beautiful venue, we had the opportunity to work with a great team of vendors! The DJ team, the caterer, the florist, and hair and makeup were all amazing.
Remember the heat wave we had? Yeah, their wedding was THAT weekend. EVERYONE had sweat dripping down their face. It was one of the hottest weddings we had ever photographed. Yet, because of the amazing team of vendors, we all survived, and..
We. Loved. Every. Minute. Of. It.
We started the day early, arriving an hour before our “start” time since we knew we had a long drive, and did not want to be late by hitting traffic. When we arrived, we did a little happy dance (we get excited about pretty things!) and went up to the bridal suite to say hello. As soon as we walked in, we got a big hug from Kelly and quickly saw familiar faces! First, Kelly’s sister looked just like Kelly, and quickly became our friend for the day. Then we saw Nathan’s mom, Christine. Nathan mentioned early on that his mom referred them to us, but we never made the connection. Christine and Kenny are getting married next year, and we met them at the Mansion at Bald Hill bridal expo!
One of our favorite things about weddings, is the bride & groom’s families. We love when we are welcomed into families as if they were are own for the day! Since Nathan and Kelly both had such loving families, we were able to laugh and enjoy their wedding day even more!
After we said our hellos and settled in, we took the brides dress for photos. Shelby wanted a shot of the dress out front, but the track for the barn doors was so high, Zac couldn’t even reach it on our step stool. After a few minutes, Shelby came back with an umbrella and we carefully balanced the dress hanger on the umbrella as we lifted it to the track. (We wish we had a behind the scenes shot of this, we balanced the hanger on the rounded side of the hook of an old style umbrella!) The photos of the dress up there were absolutely worth all the work, and we were the first photographers to ever hang a dress out there!
When it was time for the ceremony Kelly walked out of the silo, which was right next to the ceremony site, and had an extravagant entrance as she walked down the silo staircase to her Dad. Nathan had the biggest smile when he saw Kelly walking toward him in her beautiful dress. Kelly and Nathan met when they were kids in school, they dated all throughout high school, and college. They even studied abroad together in Africa. To see such a big smile on a groom, who has been with his bride for so long, it just melts your heart! We may have even teared up during their vows. (That’s a lie, Shelby was full on wiping tears!)
We have to give a little shout out to all of the amazing vendors, who helped us survive the heat wave!
The DJ and MC had the dance floor packed ALL night. First, thats a hard task on its own, but in the heat wave we had, it was amazing.
The caterer assisted us in moving the head table so we could take family photos inside, since it was just too hot to make everyone stand outside. The food was delicious and we were served dinner while we edited our day of slide show in a small air conditioned room with a comfy couch! (We loved that spot!)
The venue owner kept everything on time and kept guests happy by moving cocktail hour inside, away from the heat. The venue staff were also right there whenever we needed them, helping us stay hydrated and helping us find a wooden hanger for the dress shots!
The hair and makeup team was amazing, even through all the sweat, humidity, and dancing, the bride and bridesmaids looked like they were red carpet ready!
The best thing, was how relaxed and go with the flow Nate & Kelly were. When it was too hot to do family portraits outside, they trusted us to make the indoor portraits just as beautiful. When we did their husband and wife portraits, they stood there in the heat for us while we rushed through as many shots as possible.
Thank you Kelly and Nathan for letting us photograph your wedding day. We loved sharing all of the laughs with you guys (especially the one where Shelby called Zac her “photographer…friend”) Shelby still cringes at the thought of it and Zac just dies laughing.

OMG Shelby! These photos are absolutely amazing! I can’t even pick a favorite, they’re all my favorite! I’m so happy that you Zac were part of this special day with us. You are such a sweet couple and so easy to work with! You absolutely became part of the family that day and we can’t wait to work with you both again soon! ❤️ Christine & Kenny
