Cait and Jay’s engagement session at Harkness is up there with our all time favorite engagement sessions we ever photographed at the park. They dressed perfectly for the occasion, we had the best lighting, and they were absolute naturals once they warmed up to the camera. If you missed their engagement session, make sure to check that one out here! We knew we would be able to capture some “portfolio worthy” images on their wedding day after we worked with them for their engagement session and heard they were going to have us do their portraits in front of Waterbury City Hall. Ohhh how we LOVE taking pictures there! “Portfolio worthy” images are something we strive for during every session, wedding, or anytime we pull out our camera. However capturing more than a few at a time is rare. We need PERFECT lighting, a beautiful setting, outfits that match the background, and a really good eye to snap that perfect picture. Like I said, it’s rare to have many from one day, even at styled events because it either takes a lot of planning for that ONE picture or it just.. happens! One perfect magical moment that we happened to catch on camera.
Cait and Jay.. Well let’s just say there are a few perfectly magical moments.
I asked Cait and Jay what their favorite part of their wedding day was. They couldn’t just pick one, it was the week leading up to their day spent with out of town family and friends. It was the moment Cait put on her dress with her mom and sister. It was her first look with her dad. It was Jay hanging with his groomsmen before the ceremony. It was the doors opening at the church and Cait and Jay seeing each other for the first time. It was the fact that Cait’s parents had been married at the same church 39 years prior. It was riding in the party bus with their bridal party and family. It was watching their bridal party get announced into the reception and their first time as Mr & Mrs Webster. However, after all that they did mention that their first dance may have been their favorite!
Cait & Jay, thank you for allowing us to celebrate your marriage with you. It truly was an honor. The way that you two were beaming with love for eachother during your ceremony, everyone in the room could feel it. I noticed the Priest was smiling ear to ear watching you two smile and giggle at each other throughout your ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful.
