When Kaitlyn and David reached out for us to photograph their wedding, we recognized their names immediately. We have a few things in common with Kaitlyn and David, but our favorite similarity is that they are high school sweethearts from E.O. Smith, just like us! This is our second wedding where we went to school with the couple! We absolutely love how it feels like a little reunion during one of these weddings! We got to dance with a few friends on the dance floor and even see our vice principal (who also happened to be their officiant!)
Kaitlyn and David added so many unique touches to their wedding day. They had a butterfly release during their ceremony for their loved ones who could not attend. They asked our vice principal to officiate. They had the best man sing their first dance song. The band played on the groom’s personal drum set… and there was SO MUCH DANCING! This group knew how to dance! They danced at the ceremony, their first dance was upbeat and had tons of fun spins and dips, David and his mom broke out into a choreographed dance, Kaitlyn’s grandfather took center stage with his moves, and when everyone hit the dance floor, we couldn’t put our cameras down for a second or we would miss something awesome! Music is an important theme for these two since David knows a thing or two about music (he was our drumline instructor at our high school and is in the band that played at their wedding). Everyone broke out into song during the ceremony, the live band had everyone on the dance floor and David jumped in to play a song on the bass, even the bride’s brother said he learned to play the piano just for the big day (that was a joke, he had us all convinced though haha!) It was an absolutely beautiful day and so unique to Kaitlyn and David (just the way it should be!)
Thank you Kaitlyn & David for including us on your big day, we had such a great time capturing all of these moments for you!
xoxo
