Michela & Brian’s Fall Engagement Session

Michela and Brian’s engagement session was beyond adorable. When Michela and Brian asked us if we could do pictures at their home and then pictures at a local park, we thought, hey why not?! What we did not know was we would be brought into an absolute dream kitchen (straight from Chip and Jo on Fixer Upper!) We were shown around the house and the yard, but we our minds could not process any other photo locations than their adorable kitchen!

After hanging out in the kitchen sipping coffee, they snuggled up on their hammock and popped some champagne before heading to the park. The park had gorgeous fall leaves and beautiful walk ways. While we were hanging out with these two, they told us how they met in college. Michela and Brian’s love story is just so adorable!

Brian posted on twitter during Columbus break if “anyone on campus could cook a real meal” for him. Michela liked his post so Brian messaged her and said “Im not kidding, I will give you money or wine whatever you want!” Since Michela was already marinating cilantro lime chicken, she said sure! They hung out with a group of friends, ate dinner, and played frisbee in the hallways.

They hung out as friends for a month, then on a school trip to NY, Michela started flirting “like a fifth grader” by staring at him on the subway and laying her head on his shoulder on the bus ride home. When they got off the bus, Michela said said she had to give him a book, so she said she would ride back to school with him to give it to him. Then when they got there, already having the book with her, she said I will give it to you upstairs and said let’s have a drink and hangout. Brian said he had to act like he was oblivious to her attempts to flirt! Their first official date was to Fridays a few days later.

After a few years, and a few talks about getting engaged, Michela new it was coming and wanted photos of the engagement. Brian wanted to surprise her but every time they would go out, she would get a little bit more dolled up expecting him to pop the question, so he knew it would take some effort to surprise her.  One of his friends does some photography every once and awhile, so he had him pretend he needed models for his business. After a months planning of the photographer messaging Michela to make it seem as real as possible, they went to have their photos done. The shoot took awhile and the cute picnic blanket got put away so little by little the idea of this being a surprise engagement shoot faded from Michela’s mind. At one point the photographer had Michela do some individual shots of just her, and then had Brian join in. What she didnt know was he grabbed the ring box during this time! The photographer had her face the water, and Brian quietly got down on one knee!

Thank you Michela and Brian for not only letting us capture your engagement, but for also letting us into your adorable home for pictures! We can’t wait for your wedding in June!
