Christina & Matt’s Engagement in Springfield MA

Do you believe in fate? Christina and Matt’s love story started when they both attended their freshman year of college at Framingham State University. They were both members of the soccer team, but never spoke to one another. Matt decided to leave Framingham while Christina stayed for a few more years, so they never had an opportunity to meet at Framingham. It wasn’t until 2014 where they crossed each other’s paths again during soccer preseason at Westfield State. The odds of them going to two of the same colleges when Christina and Matt lived on opposite sides of the state were slim. Christina is from Stoneham, a small town near Boston, MA and Matt is from the city of Chicopee near Springfield, MA.

Their shared passion for soccer is what brought them together. Christina was persistent in finding an opportunity to engage with Matt. Fortunately for her, their apartments just so happened to be across from each other. What are the chances?

Ultimately, she made the first move by asking a friend for his phone number. When she reached out so they could get to know each other Matt never hesitated at the opportunity and took full advantage of it. They had their first date at a local pizza shop in the city where Matt grew up. The connection between one another was undeniable. When they weren’t in class or on the soccer field they spent their free time with each other. They supported each other’s soccer careers and life goals. They were long distance for the first 4 years of their relationship, but they never let this alter their relationship. Christina decided to move on the other side of the state to settle down with Matt. After celebrating their 7 year anniversary together Matt proposed to Christina. It was a quiet and intimate proposal at home that they shared with their Husky.

When planning for Matt and Christina’s engagement session, we had a few hiccups on location. The venue where they wanted to have their photographs taken needed a permit, so we had to improvise last minute on location. Fortunately Christina and Matt are super easy going and we found a beautiful campus to take their pictures at! Fitting, since they met in college! Although Western New England University was not their stomping grounds, we were able to find a beautiful walkway and staircase that was the perfect backdrop for a majority of their pictures! (I bet you would never guess that we were also all absolutely freezing cold during this session!)

Thank you Christina and Matt for letting us capture your special time and we can not wait to celebrate your marriage with you two next year!

xoxo
