OUR FIRST BRIDAL SHOW! ✔️
We got to check off another first for our business on Sunday! We had our first booth at a bridal expo!
We saw the Mansion at Bald Hill was having a show in only a few days. We reached out to see if there was an opening for us, and we were able to grab the last spot! We only had four days to put together our display. FOUR DAYS. Zachary works full time, so that meant we only had a few hours each day to plan, shop, and build our booth!
Thanks to Pinterest, we came up with the idea to build a wall to display a few of our favorite 8×10 portraits. We had an adorable love seat just waiting to be shown off, and some Mr & Mrs pillows to go with it! Soon we had the theme planned out, welcome to our home! We planned our raffle gift to match that theme by making it a movie night basket, with a cute blanket and everything you could need for a fun movie date in your living room!
When designing the booth, we wanted it to match our personalities and style. We went with a light grey wall with white trim. Classic and elegant, with a light color scheme. Next we wanted to add a few fun elements, like the blue pillows, tiered Mr & Mrs dessert display and the copper sign holder we made together. The love seat and pillows are going to be used at our own wedding. (The copper sign holder might be added to that list as well!) By incorporating those into our booth, we felt that it added a touch of our personal lives. When we said “welcome to our home” to the couples who entered our booth, they really were entering a mini version of our own home! (It may be more like our dream home since our home is never as organized as this, we always have dog toys everywhere, but we can dream right?)
We wanted couples to get to know us, beyond the camera and “photographer” label. One of our main goals in our business is to become friends with our couples and give them the best client experience as possible. Our goal with our booth was the same, to give our clients a warm and welcoming experience in only the short few minutes we had with them. We had some brides sit down on our couch to look through our wedding album, so we think the couples felt right at home with us!
Here is our booth!
Tell us your thoughts, we would love to hear what you think of it!
We write our blogs together, that’s why you will notice our blogs are written using “we.” However, you will notice that sometimes we switch from the “we” point of view to the “I” point of view, like now.
Zachary and I wrote this blog last night. I decided to quickly edit it to add this in today while he was at work.
Although this image is completely out of focus (it was a test shot for lighting), I decided to keep it.
First off, look how handsome he is!
Second, Zachary put so much effort into building this wall and sign holder for our booth, that he deserves a little praise. He was up at 11 pm the night before soldering the copper pipes together, and glueing on the trim to our wall.
Zachary has a full time job, yet he still takes the time to support my crazy ideas and helps me achieve them.
He is my Chip Gaines. Get yourself a man who treats you like Chip treats Jo.

If you love Gilmore Girls and the small town charm that Stars Hollow offers, you will love the Woodstock area.
The Mansion is set back in the heart of the quiet corner of Connecticut. You will see beautiful farms, stone walls, vineyards, and winding roads on your way to the venue.
Here are just a few images of The Mansion at Bald Hill. Not only is it an absolutely stunning venue, the staff are amazing, and the food.. THE FOOD!! It was out of this world!
From the water features to the fireplaces, the chandeliers to the wood beams, the red roofs to the cedar shingles… and we can’t forget to mention our favorite part, the gorgeous white trim and huge windows that provide such beautiful natural lighting!!
This venue is a dream!!
We loved meeting the amazing couples who came by our booth! You were all so sweet and we loved hearing about all of your wedding dreams!
